Jennifer Ackerman loved to sing. Ever since the fourth grade, she had been part of a choir in some way. But on what was to be a normal Sunday morning, Jennifer had a heart attack that ended up killing the left side of her heart. After an initial misdiagnosis, year of unsuccessful treatment, specialists gave her the shocking news that she would require a Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAD) to keep her alive until a heart for transplant could be found. Listen as Jennifer shares her journey from near death to singing at Carnegie Hall.
