For Families
Lifebanc honors and remembers those families, and their loved ones, who have chosen to give the Gift of Life. We offer many services to help families through their journey after their loved one is an organ, eye, or tissue donor through Lifebanc. Search the resources below to see what is right for you or email bereavement@lifebanc.org with questions or specific requests.
Grief Support
Lifebanc also provides individual grief counseling with a licensed grief therapist for donor families free-of-charge at our Warrensville Heights office. Please call 216.820.4940 or email bereavement@lifebanc.org to set up an appointment. (Individuals who do not have transportation can still utilize counseling services offered. Lifebanc can arrange for Lyft rides for those within a 20-mile radius. Individual counseling is also offered via ZOOM.)
Online Support
Lifebanc has gathered online resources from organizations who specialize in the grief journey. We also offer a closed Facebook group for donor family members only. Specifically created to give you the opportunity to share about your loved one, discuss what you’re experiencing, ask for support and advice from other donor families, and offer support and advice to other donor families. Support Groups
Lifebanc offers support groups that can be a very helpful experience for grievers. While most people are a little nervous when they attend a new group they soon discover people who speak the same language of loss and therefore find others who understand the experience of grief. Lifebanc hosts several topic-specific support groups throughout the year. They meet one evening a week for ten weeks and are free to family members of organ, eye and tissue donors. Advance registration is required. Learn More
Donor Family-Recipient Communication
Lifebanc plays a critical role in providing information about the outcome of donation and facilitating anonymous communication when possible.
